Making God Sexy

My friend Alicia and I have this running joke that every time we express ourselves in a positive way that we are making God Sexy. The thing is that it’s not really a joke. It’s the most truthful that we could say to each other. I know, I know. There’s some of you out there that strongly disagree with us. That’s okay. This blog isn’t for you. If you’re curious though, even in the smallest amount, you are going to continue reading.
Think about it. What makes a person Sexy to you? I mean long term now. Sure there are those people that turn your head because they are so dang beautiful. There are probably even some that turn your head because they have the finest walk ever. I know all about struts. A good strut will turn my head every time. You know though the people that I HAVE to know, the ones that I want to be around they have something special. Something that I call Sexy.
Truly, the people I find Sexy are the ones that know who they are and BE it. They don’t have to DO anything. They just have to BE THEMSELVES. I can spot them from across a crowded room. They have this presence, an energy about them. There’s this absolute ease about them. They exude acceptance. It’s okay for them to them and for you to be you.
What I’m really talking about is confidence. Nothing makes a person sexier to me than confidence in themselves. I don’t mean that false bravado where they are acting all cool or pushing people away. You know what I’m talking about. I’ve done it myself. Heck, you might have done it too. I’m talking about that confidence that comes with exploring the Self. Once you explore who you are you can never again go back to mediocrity.
All too often I hear people say, “It’s egotistical to think highly of oneself.” Well, I say it’s just as egotistical to think lowly of oneself. YOU are not broken, fragmented or ugly in any way shape or form. YOU are absolutely perfect just the way you are. There’s a balance that one finds within oneself when they are willing to look within instead of without to figure out who they are. The willingness to take that look inside is the first step to Sexy. The courage to LIVE that is SEXY.
It’s real easy to throw the baby out with the bath water when we talk about things of a spiritual nature. Heck! I’ve done it. I found that I had to go back to the Source to find who I am. I grew up in a religious home. We talked about God. When I was old enough to not have to go to church anymore I didn’t. I couldn’t stand talking about God or hearing about God. When I started praying again as an adult I called God… George. To me George was safer than God. Some people call the Creator, Creator. Others call the Source of Life, Source. Still others say Buddha Nature or the Universe or All That Is. It really doesn’t matter what you call It. I’m pretty sure that George doesn’t mind either. The point is that if you want your life to work than you have to start somewhere. Why not attempt to connect to the Inner Self that connects you to all Life? Why not attempt to join the Sonship of the Spirit? Why not see how you can make God Sexy?
Confidence in who a person is not only makes a person Sexy it also makes for better parents, better business owners, better relationships. After all, who wants to do business with a pretender or be in a relationship with someone who’s looking for someone else to define them? I don’t. Truly I don’t know anyone who does. So why not attempt to find your Sexy? Have a little bit of fun! Get to know yourself from the inside out and have fun expressing who you find there.
Main Street Leverage

Today the majority of us think of leverage as the act of borrowing money against an asset to give us more money to put elsewhere. This is what we do when we buy a house on credit. We are leveraging our future earnings against the value of the house with the hope that we will be receiving more money in the future. When an entrepreneur or a small business owner start a company the majority of them do not have the assets to make loans on to financially propel our businesses forward so what are we to do??
First thing we do is STOP BEATING on ourselves!! You don’t have it. Fine. It’s all good. There are other ways to get what we need.
Having had that realization it’s time to take a clear, realistic look at what we DO HAVE. This is one of the reasons why taking regular inventories and having a clear description of what we provide and how we provide it is so valuable.
Having a clear picture of our idea, i.e. a business plan, provides us with a road map to where we want to go. Taking regular inventories shows us what we have available and where the gaps are that need to be filled.
Here’s an example for you:
Sally starts a bakery. She has a lot of experience and she makes the BEST cupcakes hands down. She has $20,000 cash in which to open her store. She’s found a location that suits her needs perfectly. The rent is $3500 per month. She must put down 3 months rent in order to secure the location. Her first payment on the bakery’s location is $10,500. Instead of purchasing the signs to advertise her new location she’s made an arrangement with the landlord for him to provide the signs. That’s saved her $2000. Phew!! Sally’s next big purchase is the supplies to start her bakery. That’s another $1500 upfront. Sally has now spent $12,000 and has $8,000 left. It’s really important that she hold on to as much cash as she can to get her through the first several months of business. What is she to do? She still needs stuff, including marketing. She’s got to get the word out about what she does in order to get the people in the door and buying her products. Fortunately for Sally she owns a house. She could go to the bank and borrow money against her home. Sally’s husband is willing and ready to support her however she needs, including working in the kitchen when he gets off of work. He’s not willing to put their family home on the table for financing. It’s scary for him. So what else can she do? She could go back into the inventory she created when she wrote her business plan and see what else she has. This is where all of her experience, contacts and ideas come into play. What does Sally have that is intangible that she could leverage to fuel her business?
Sally is a mom of three high school aged kids. She’s been involved with the PTA for years. Over the years she has baked for each of the bake sales her kids were involved in. She’s also made cupcakes for the PTA meetings every month she was involved, by request. Do you think this is something that she could use? I do. What if Sally baked her requested cupcakes for the PTA meetings as usual? Only this time what if Sally took some of her business cards and gave them out with each cupcake? Sally has lots of opportunities like this that she uses to create a plan to get the word out.
Sally also has a Facebook account that she’s been using for personal reasons since the inception of Facebook. She has almost 600 people on her account! What if she leveraged that account and told everyone of her contacts about what she is doing? What if she ASKED each one of them to share the news with their people? Do you think that 5%, maybe 10% would do so? Keep in mind that it only takes ONE good contact to move a business forward. Which one it is we don’t know so it’s a good idea to tell everyone. What if she created a plan where she had specials or gave a coupon for her bakery and used her existing contacts to help her spread the word on a more regular basis?
Sally also needs a bookkeeper. She has no idea what she’s doing with keeping business accounts. Sally makes a bold decision and decides to visit a local business referral group in her town. At the meeting she’s introduced to a bookkeeper who only does work with other local entrepreneurs. This particular bookkeeper does a lot of presentations to groups of business owners over lunch. The presentations help the bookkeeper to create awareness for her company, build her clientele base, educate the public and inform her clients of changes in standard accounting practices. What if Sally were to barter with the bookkeeper? Would the bookkeeper be willing to trade services with Sally? A specific number of lunches per month for the bookkeepers presentations in exchange for a specific number of hours of the bookkeepers work on Sally’s business? Do you think the bookkeeper might tell everyone where she got their lunch? Do you think that might build word of mouth for Sally’s bakery?
I’m sure by now you get the point. You don’t need to understand stock options or be a Wall Street big wig to make things happen. What you need is an awareness of what you have, a flexible plan for where you wish to go and plenty of imagination. Don’t you think it’s time for you to start using your Main Street Leverage??
If you are already using Main Street Leverage I want to know. I’m sure that the people who read this blog want to know. Would you be willing to share your stories with us?
Lead With Your Light Part 2

In the last post of this series we discussed the difference between longing and desire.
Longing has its focus on lack or what is missing. Like wishing, it places us in a position of limited possibility. What you focus on grows larger. Inside the web of longing, one tends to feel powerless to change their circumstance.
Desire is of the Father… it is the Formless Consciousness from which we create the life we choose. Desire is the stirring within your soul for All that tends toward Life. Desire is a place of Infinite Possibilities and Power! Inside desire lay the seeds of Wholeness and the key to the Authority of the Concious Co-Creator.
From the space of our God-Realized desire, we may “Lead with our Light”!
Knowing, that everything you need lies inside the Kingdom within and is already in your possession, you are at peace!
We create, or uncover desire from becoming present to what it is we want in the deepest way possible. When you are ready to Lead With Your Light, you will seek:
- Not the gift but the Giver
- Not the thing…but the state of consciousness from which it arises
Life is consciousness. Life is spiritual not physical.
To the degree to which we can understand these basic Truths, we will create the life we want.
Remember that you already create the life that you choose consciously or unconsciously. Whether you live as a beggar or a monarch inside your Kingdom is up to you.
Do you desire joy, peace, wealth, luxury, security or opulence? No matter, they are all within you. Access your desire through your emotion! Feel the experience of joy, peace, wealth or whatever you desire.
Emotion = Energy in Motion
Many of us are used to the emotions of depression, lack, sadness and confusion. Expand your consciousness to include your natural state of Being. Feast on the feelings that tend toward Life!
“How do I do this?”, you may ask. Practice is the answer.
Proverbs 4:23 “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.”
As you shape your consciousness with your feelings of love, joy and gratitude you cannot fail to change your world!
In the next installment of this series we will discuss moving from “desire” to “conviction”.
This post is a continuation of “Don’t Lead with Your Need”.
Don’t Lead with Your Need
“You must lay aside your greed; have no unworthy motive in your desire to become rich and powerful. It is legitimate and right to desire riches, if you want them for the sake of your soul, but not if you desire them for the lusts of the flesh.”
~Wallace D. Wattles Quotes from The Science of Being Great
In the month of May, I went through a Dark Night of the Soul. After my second year of lengthy unemployment, and some attempts at online marketing which were not yeilding the results I thought they should, I felt ready to throw up my hands.
Financially, I felt like I was drowning and needed someone to throw me a lifeline quick, fast and in a hurry! Spiritually, I knew that there was Infinite Supply. But when Pepco turned off my lights because I couldn’t pay the bill, I thought that someone oughta’ tell God that “Infinite Supply” wasn’t showing up in my bank account!
Suddenly, I was 9 years old again, hungry and hearing my mother crying about how little we had. My childhood taught me to believe strongly in “Not Enough”. I had plenty of experience with lack and struggle around money. Now I was ready to choose a new experience!
I know now to ask each experience what it is here to teach me. I know that every experience, no matter how challenging, offers a gift if we have the courage to recieve it. Those experiences that have caused us to feel pain come up to be healed by us and to offer the opportunity of healing to us.
And so sitting in the darkness, I asked for healing and I let the learning begin.
As human beings we want to “control” our world and arrange our universe so that we can avoid pain and perceived suffering. Ironically, it is that need to control that causes most of the pain and suffering that we experience.
So when the lights came back on, my solution to not having that experience again was to get “busy”! Busy looking for a traditional job which I told God I didn’t want anyway, then starting with an MLM, printing up business cards, setting up websites and other platforms to push product…the busy list was endless!
Part of my healing around the energy of money, was the divine opportunity to work one-on-one with Johanna Dolan, a Financial Coach. As we pull back the layers together, some very clear patterns have begun to emerge. One of the major ones was the memory of “longing”.
Longing is defined as: “Strong, persistent craving, a yearning especially for something unattainable or distant.” I knew “longing” now I wanted to learn how to “desire”. The word desire actually means… of the Father. Desire is a strong feeling, worthy or unworthy, that impels to the attainment or possession of something that is (in reality or imagination) within reach: a desire for success.
Most of us confuse “Longing” and “Desire”. They are two very different things!
Longing = unattainable and out of reach. It’s the carrot that the ego dangles in front of you on a constant basis.
Desire = attainable and within reach. Desires are of the Father and originate from Source.
Longing keeps the focus on what’s missing. Focusing on lack creates more lack. Inside longing, you operate from a place of “neediness” and you don’t truly believe that what you ask for is possible for you anyway. When you put this energy out into the world people feel it and you come across as inauthentic and self-serving.
Desire gives attention to that which you already possess whether or not it has become manifest in the tangible world yet. Inside desire you are present to every wonderful possibility! You know you already have what you have requested from the Father. Instead of “busyness” and struggle you feel an ease and a natural flow. Instead of leading with your need, you lead with your Light! When you put this energy out into the world, everything you create works! People respond readily to your love and authenticity! You create from a place of wholeness knowing that nothing is missing or lacking and that energy is returned to you in kind!
So in closing:
- Practice releasing resistance to your desires!
- Let longing go!
- Lead with your Light!

The Way Forward
It serves no man to deny their doubts, squash them down and cover them up. When this happens we have unwittingly created a living entity within ourselves that claws and scrabbles to be let out. Like a fog it seeps into every crevice, seen and unseen. It will cease at nothing short of it’s goal to be heard. The entity will live through us, breathe through us and ultimately act through us when we have let our guards down – usually when in the company of our loved ones and where we feel the safest.
The only way to exorcise the entity is to let it out. Darkness does not dissolve in more darkness. Only in the light does it dissolve. Therefore the only way to be free of doubt, fear and negativity is to walk directly through it. Denial of it’s existence is an incorrect use of the skill of denial. By allowing our egos to have it’s voice it loses its power and becomes weak. As it loses its power it’s root is exposed. Once the root of its discontent is exposed the ego will have lost the will to be you and you may safely pull the root out so that the entity does not regrow.
A word of caution. Negativity, fear and doubt make tremendously effective weapons. Lest you desire to infect and inflict their pain on others it is both prudent and wise to share only for the purposes of laying the festering burden down and only with one who is prepared. It is cruel to walk through the entity with someone who is not trained to handle it or who hasn’t looked at the illusions and trickery of their own ego and lived to tell about it. Nay, not even merely lived yet THRIVED in the solution that they found once they recognized and realized the opportunities to grow and change by willing to walk through darkness themselves. It is just as cruel to walk through the entity with someone who wishes to do battle with it. Simply let it have its voice, die a natural death and move on by creating new ideals for yourself.
Opportunity up for grabs!
Hello,
I’ve been getting a lot of questions recently about what I’m doing with myself. The most astounding thing for me is that people want to know how they can get involved. Good news is that I’m finally ready to talk about it. I’m also ready to share how you can get involved in the exciting and fun stuff I’m up too.
It’s been a year since I’ve retired from my position as a financial planner. Wow. It’s so hard to believe that it’s only been a year. It feels more like 2 or 3 or maybe even 5 years. It took a lot longer for me to shed that part of my identity than I expected. Can you believe that up until last month when asked what it is that I do for a living I was still telling people that I’m a financial planner? Amazing to me. Of course, I would catch myself saying it and then I would blurt out something that sounded like a more accurate description of what I have been doing with myself for the last year. After 14 years in the financial industry it’s only natural that I talk about what I used to do until I got used to talking about what I AM doing. I find that this is a pretty common thing with all people. We tend to use the most recent experience we’ve had to define ourselves. Sometimes, our experiences no longer define us and we need to learn different ways to be who we are. The first step to that is admitting what we’ve done and where we’ve been. This isn’t meant to create a platform for us to judge ourselves or to beat on ourselves. Rather, admitting our experiences, facing them, gleaning the lessons from them and using them as a gauge to change our beingness and the way we see ourselves is what enables us to move forward and stand in who we really are. The gauge of our past experiences and thoughts allow us to identify who we desire to be and release everything that is unlike it. More importantly, it gives us the ability to see that we are all unfinished works of art and getting better moment by moment.
A year ago, well actually, on May 17th of last year I sent out the official notices to the clients and the financial services companies that I worked with stating my intention to build a ministry that consisted of helping people to align their spiritual paths with their financial lives. I have been diligently working towards that aim all year. I’ve been blessed to work with some really amazing people on an individual and group basis to awaken their own internal entrepreneur and banker. It’s been really inspiring to watch these people grow. They are living, breathing examples that when we dedicate ourselves to our OWN path we find success.
My work consists of helping people to align their spiritual paths with their financial lives. It is my belief and my experience that the two go hand in hand. With all of the turmoil that has surrounded the financial markets for the last several years, it seemed only natural to me that my work and my life’s path is to teach people not only the basics about finances and entrepreneurship but also the way that our M.O.N.E.Y. is truly reflective of the acronym, “my own natural energy yield.” There is nothing to fear about our finances. There is only the opportunity to discover how to create a better world for ourselves, our loved ones, and our communities. How we may overcome the myriad of challenges we are faced with daily is what defines us and our character.
I have a romantic ideal of who an entrepreneur is. So do many others in our country right now. In fact, our country was built by the entrepreneur and who knows, it may be re-built by the entrepreneur. Jean-Baptiste Say, a French economist in the 19th century said that “the entrepreneur shifts economic resources out of lower and into higher productivity and greater yield.” We do that by creating goals, developing the willingness, skills and readiness to move into the next level. It also requires the support and guidance from others. As well as once we have had a breakthrough we are obligate to share it with others. This is gist of one of the prosperity laws – the Law of Correspondence. We get back that which we are willing to give. If we are willing to give of ourselves fully we will experience abundance that we’ve only dreamed of in the past. If we are unwilling we are left with the thoughts, experiences and language of lack and poverty.
Over the last year I have learned much about letting go, re-inventing oneself and following our own paths by watching the examples put forward by others and by putting my feet where my mouth is. Companies, communities, and ministries are built through networking and shared resources. It is my heartfelt desire to share with you the work of my clients and to invite you to become involved in my work. Over the course of the next several months you are going to see an increase in the work that Dolan & Associates does through the Myrrth & Prosperity project. We are starting to promote the work created by our own very talented clients and peers. The time has come for Myrrth & Prosperity to really start to flex it’s wings (the company mascot is a Phoenix, after all
). With that being said, I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce two of my clients. Maybe you know them, maybe you don’t. I hope that you take the opportunity to check them out. Who knows, their stories may be your story. Both of these women are sterling examples of reinvention and standing in who they are while improving the economy of their communities right where they are.
Jennifer Tallman, also known as “Ironjen” is an amazing woman. Ironjen survived a five year battle with incurable dermatomyositis to finish multiple Ironman triathlons, marathons, and countless smaller races. She is now heading up the Ironjen Foundation and is committed to helping people discover the wellness within themselves while releasing the thought patterns that made them sick. I personally find Jen an inspiration. I suspect that she’s an inspiration to many, many others as well. If you’d like to know more about the Ironjen foundation, please check out her website at http://www.ironjenfoundation.org.
Kelly Walker, is an also an amazing woman. Her story is incredible and her artwork is inspiring. She is an example to me of “sticktoitiveness.” She’s one of those incredibly humble people who deflects a lot of attention from herself and focuses it on others. Her willingness to support others is astounding to me. Lucky for us, she was recently the focus of an article written for CBSBaltimore.com that I would like to share with you. You can find the article HERE.
While I’m at it, I invite you to attend an amazing retreat that’s being orchestrated by a tremendous man who I am both privileged and honored to call my brother and my peer. Rodney McKenzie is the founder of the NYC based More Life, Inc. More Life is a spiritual, social and artistic community dedicated to thinking about who we are and who we want to be in the world. More Life explores questions like: Am I doing work that matters? Why are my relationships not working? What am I waiting for? Fortunately for me, I’ve had the privilege of going to NYC this last year several times to teach members of his community about finances. I am also proud to say that I will be an instructor at the “Mastering Your Life Retreat.” This is your opportunity to get involved in what I’m up too! Rodney told me that there are only 19 seats left so if you are interested NOW is the time to sign up. Mission Vs. Vision
The biggest difference between a mission statement and a vision statement is that a mission statement focuses on a company’s present state and the vision statement focuses on the company’s future.
To be more specific a mission statement accomplishes two major objectives:
- Describes what an organization does, it’s purpose, for both those in the organization and the public.
- Answers the question, “What change is achieved because we exist?”
- An example is “We fulfill dreams through the experience of motorcycling, by providing to motorcyclists and to the general public an expanding line of motorcycles and branded products and services in selected market segments.” Harley Davidson, Inc.
A vision statement on the other hand:
- Describes what an organization would like to happen as a result of it’s mission.
- Answers the question, “What are the results, the ends, the consequences of our action?”
- An example is “Create experiences that combine the magic of software with the power of Internet services across a world of devices.” Microsoft [Personally, I LOVED their previous vision statement - “"a computer on every desk" ]
All organizations need both a mission and a vision statement. The leaders, managers, and the public whom it serves needs to be able to know what you do and why you do it. Having both gives you focused action towards a specific result and a measurement to know when you have reached your goal. One without the other will give you only a dream with no way to reach it or pointless action used to kill time.
You will know that your mission and vision statements are perfect for you when:
- People understand when you tell them what you do and request to know more about the HOW you do WHAT you do.
- People who are part of the organization can see why their employment role is important to the company and can envision how their participation effects the organization’s vision.
- The mission and vision statements EXCITE the writers AND the people impacted by the organization, both internal and external customers.
- If feels right
Mission and vision statements are exactly that, statements. If you find that you are writing pages and pages of information you are most likely beginning to write the business plan itself, or the HOW you do what you do. If you find that is what you are doing. Take a breath, step back and answer the question, “What change is achieved because we exist?” You will find that the vision statement and the business plan flow easily from there.
Enjoy the day you are creating,
Johanna
Becoming A Better Banker
Health, wealth, and relationships are interconnected. What affects one, affects another. The main reason is that all three are areas in which we use M.O.N.E.Y. (My Own Natural Energy Yield). Any of these areas can be an energy suck or an energy builder. The choice is up to us about whether the situation(s) at hand will build us up or tear us down. The key to remember is that at all times we are either spending or investing M.O.N.E.Y.. In order to use each experience as a way to build us up we need to learn to be more conscious of how we are spending M.O.N.E.Y.. The more aware we are of our use of M.O.N.E.Y., the better our lives become.
We become aware by first asking ourselves some questions. The path I usually follow when evaluating how I use M.O.N.E.Y. is this one:
- Do I want what I have? If not, what would I rather have?
- What am I afraid of? What is keeping me from having what I want? What is keeping me from being truthful about what I desire in this situation? This question can have many different versions. Typically the answer boils down to one of four things:
- I’m afraid I’m not worthy
- I’m afraid I’m going to be abandoned
- I’m afraid I’m powerless
- I’m afraid I’ll lose myself
- Am I willing to let go and move past my fear, even just a small amount?
- What am I doing or how am I being that is adding to the situation?
- What could I do differently?
- Who do I have to become in order to have or do whatever it is I desire?
- Do I know how? Am I willing to learn?
- Am I willing to tell the other parties involved what is going on with me?
- Is what I’m about to say important and does it need to be said by me?
- When can I start to change how I’m using M.O.N.E.Y.?
The sooner I get still and ask myself these questions, the quicker I get some relief. I’ve found that as I do these inventories I have more and I share more.
I have a client who walked into my office a month ago. She started spilling her guts about what she was experiencing. She was in a state of overwhelm and was tripping over herself trying to get it all out. It sounded a little like this:
“I lost my temper. I said things I didn’t mean. I lost my temper really bad and put my fist through a wall. I could kick myself. My clients aren’t paying on time. I didn’t pay a lot of bills on time. I’m going to lose my employees. I’m going to have to file bankruptcy. I’m not going to be able to find new clients. Ugh! What is WRONG with me? Why is this happening? To top it all off, I BROKE my foot! I missed a step and BROKE my foot. If only I had seen the step or remembered it was there. I told the people I love and enjoy the most that I hated them and wanted them out of my life.
Oh, my God, the shame. I’ll never get over it. I’ll never be able to talk to them again. I can’t face them anymore. How will anyone trust me? What will they think of me? What do I think of me? What sort of person doesn’t pay their bills on time? What sort of person hollers and puts her fist through walls? Only someone who’s bad. Only someone who doesn’t care about themselves or others would say what I said or do what I did. I didn’t mean it. Or maybe I did? What if I’ll never get it right? What if I’ll always feel this way? What if? If I didn’t mean it then why does it feel so bad? Why does my world feel like it’s falling apart? No one’s ever going to love me. No one’s ever going to trust me. What if I end up homeless? By myself? All alone?
My foot hurts. On the other hand though my sweetie did the laundry. It was really nice of her. I’m so glad she did that. She didn’t do it all but she did some. I don’t know how she didn’t see the pile in the bathroom that was dirty. I don’t understand why my clients aren’t paying me on time. Some of them pay me ahead of time some of them don’t pay me at all until I call them and harass them.
Every time I get what I want I screw it up. I’m just a screw up. Everybody wants something. They all have a secret agenda. People can’t possibly, can’t really, only want the best for me. What’s wrong with them? It goes against everything I’ve ever experienced. I’ve been praying for this. Now that I have it I think I’m not worthy of it. I have an amazing girlfriend and I can’t stand myself. I have a beautiful home and I’m afraid I’m going to lose it. I’m finally starting to break through with my career and I can’t get anyone to pay their bills!”
Have you ever felt like that before? Have you ever felt like you had screwed up so bad that you wouldn’t get a second chance? Have you ever wanted something that you already have and are afraid that you wouldn’t be able to keep it? I have. I’ve felt exactly the same way that my client was feeling. Thank God someone was there to listen to me and then stepped in and asked me the questions.
We CAN become our own bankers. Every banker I know has a mentor or a guide that supports them in becoming better. So it’s healthy to talk to somebody and share your stuff. We all have mentors and guides we only need to open our eyes to see them. It’s only when we don’t share that our craziness grows and we can’t stop the spinning. That’s when things go from bad to worse. That’s what’s meant by the phrase, “our secrets make us sick.” The Ego is against communication. It wants us by itself and separated from everyone else. So communicate!
Once my client was done I started asking her the questions. She answered them all. She knew all the answers. There were only a few things that she needed help with because she didn’t know how to do something.
What she decided was that she wanted the girlfriend, she wants more free time, she loves her job, she wants to improve the clientele she has and her business billing system. She also decided that she is afraid of all of things on the fear list. She decided that it was time for her to let go of her past. That it was time for her to go after what she really wanted. She created a plan and started to work it immediately. She had a conversation with her girlfriend about what was going on with her, she bought a hamper and started to use it, she started to go to the gym again, and she hasn’t lost her temper once. She almost lost it but she took a deep breath and called someone instead. She also started working on her business. She billed her clients and they paid her immediately. With that money she paid her employees, hired an accountant and has been giving the accountant a daily report of the work she’s completed and he’s been doing all the billing. She had phone calls with her vendors and told them what was going on and what she was doing to fix the situation. She asked for some help. Wouldn’t you know? They gave it to her.
I told you that to tell you this. The world really does want to help. We have been given everything. If we refuse to recognize it, we aren’t entitled to our bitterness. When we push away the gifts we are freely given, we aren’t entitled to beat ourselves up, push ourselves around in our head, or give up on ourselves. We still have cause for gratitude because we have truly been given everything. We can still be grateful that we have all the answers and that everything we require to live the lives of our dreams are inside ourselves. We can still be grateful that we have been given all of the skills and tools to become our very own best banker. We have all the M.O.N.E.Y. we need. It’s up to us how we use it.
So the next time someone asks you, “Are you an investor or a spender?”, how will you answer?
Enjoy the day you are creating,
Johanna
Memphis Rising!!
Alright Everyone! We have officially put our money where our mouth is. Myrrth & Prosperity has donated 2 of the open participant slots for our upcoming Financial Boot Camp to Memphis Rising to assist in their efforts to rebuild and support the families that have been effected by the recent flooding of Memphis.
Memphis, TN is a place I absolutely LOVE! If you’ve never been let me tell you that there is nothing like Memphis for hospitality, art and music. I consider Memphis my second home.
They really got hit hard with the floods and Memphis Rising is doing something about it to raise funds to meet the needs of the storm and flood victims. The “Memphis Rising Flood Relief Benefit” concert and online auction will aid Memphis area victims of the devastating storms that tore through the South this Spring. Proceeds will be distributed citywide through Shelby Cares to several relief shelters. All of these shelters are already on the ground working to meet the immediate needs of storm and flood victims. I’m not suggesting that you get on a plane to attend the concert (although, if you did… ROCK ON!!) there are other ways to support their efforts. Please take a moment and surf on over to their page and provide support in other ways if you can. I’d appreciate it and I’m sure a lot of Memphians will too!
